Engagement

Gen & I were officially engaged on 11/10/06.  I planned a secret & romantic getaway for us for the big night.  I started the day with roses for her while I cooked a nice breakfast for two with Mimosa's (champagne & OJ).  As the day progressed, all she knew was to be dressed up and ready to go by 5pm. At 5pm, I opened the front door to a limousine sitting out in front of the house.  It was a brand new 2006 limo that was fully decked out with laser & strobe lights, killer sound system, DVD player, and a wet bar.  From there, we sipped champagne as the limo took us to our first destination.  That being a 45-minute stop off at "our" park (Bruin Park) for a romantic candlelit picnic with cheese & crackers.  At this point, I gave Gen various cards with poems with the last one telling her to shut her eyes and count to 10 out loud.  When she opened them, I was kneeling beside her on one knee and popped the question.  From there, we went to an old spot of ours (McCormick's & Schmitt's) restaurant for a nice dinner & cocktails.  Finally, we were chauffeured back home and ended the evening soaking in the hot tub.  A picture perfect evening...
